Howlin Wolf and Muddy Waters - Club Paradise, 1964

"Take It for Me," "Spoonful," "Evils," "I Should Have Quit You a Long Time Ago," "I Got My Mojo Working," "The Same Thing," and "Hootchie Cootchie Man." Can you imagine this blues battle for less than $5.00; as the poster advertises, tickets were just $3.50 in advance and $4.00 at the door!!!! The concert was held by the two masters of the Chicago blues at Club Paradise in Memphis, Tennessee, on October 24th, 1964. The Club Paradise was opened by Sunbeam Mitchell in 1962, after he was forced out when the bulldozers hit historic Beale Street. He relocated to Georgia Avenue and built the largest nightclub in Memphis. Along with Detroit, this is where soul music got its start.
