Buffalo Springfield and Steve Miller Band - Fillmore, San Francisco, 1967
Buffalo Springfield, along with The Steve Miller Band and Freedom Highway played at the Fillmore Auditorium for a three nights show in San Francisco on April 28-29-30 .
This is BG Fillmore poster #61 in the old series. There are several variations of this poster due to the fact that the colors of inks were changed during the press run.
The poster was created by Wes Wilson and the image here is of a fantasy face of a figure with a long head dress which forms the lettering. The Yin-Yang symbol is incorporated into the design next to the dates. In one way, it is very unfortunate that Wes was about to have a dispute with Bill Graham which led to him no longer producing posters for the Fillmore Auditorium concerts because most of the designs he created at this time were some of the most brilliant works of graphic artistry created during that period. This was the next to last poster done by him for the venue. Alas, he went onto create a vast amount of posters long after that, and continued creating incredible artwork.
