The Doors, Lothar and the Hand People, Captain Beefheart & His Magic Band
We are going back on 1967, The Doors, Lothar and the Hand People and Captain Beefheart & His Magic Band, played in Denver for two nights at the University of Denver and at Denver Dog. The poster was created by Bob Schnepf. The white and yellow graphics gave this poster the nickname “Flash”, a negative image of several women dressed in long gowns rejoicing as they walk up a hill side, they are playing musical instruments and it looks as if they are dancing. A number of the rock artists from this time period attempted with varying degrees of success to use negative images for psychedelic effect, but over time this one has proved to be one of the most popular of these attempts.
