It was 54 years ago on March 29, 1969 that “Happy Trails" was released in the United States, what more can be said, it's Quicksilver Messenger Service. “Happy Trails" is a gem of unrivaled beauty an epic monument of acid rock a hymn to freedom. The poster next to the album cover is for a concert at I.E.S. Hall in San Jose, California on september 2, 1966 and it was created by John H. Myers the picture of the Messenger is by Herb Greene. This concert was broadcast on the radio, John Cipollina and companions review their first repertoire with acid sonorities and thick guitar intertwining. In a five-man formation, with Cipollina, Gary Duncan, David Freiberg and Greg Elmore there is also Jim Murray, these were already mature Quicksilvers and ready to reaffirm their role among the best exponents of the new scene alongside Jefferson Airplane and Grateful Dead
